Vinesh Bhindi takes charge at Mazda Australia

Mazda Australia has announced the appointment of Vinesh Bhindi as its incoming managing director from April as existing boss, Martin Benders, retires after more four decades with the Japanese brand.

Benders, who has been with Mazda since 1985, oversaw the brand’s continued growth with record sales as well leading the charge to capture 10 per cent of domestic market share, making Australia one of the most successful markets for Mazda in the world.

During his four years as managing director, Benders also further expanded Mazda Australia’s national dealer network, and moved company headquarter to Mulgrave, Victoria. Mazda remains the best-selling brand to private buyers in Australia.

Incoming boss, Bhindi (pictured above), has been the director of sales since 2010 and has been with Mazda for 21 years in total, having served all the way from the dealership level to state manager for both Victoria and New South Wales. His position will be filled by David Hughes.
