    VE Calais 2007
Since I have owned this brand new car purchased in March 2007 I have been unable to use the wiper sprayers due to the goose neck filler tube melting.
Holden haven’t been able to supply a new part in 6 months

    Very disappoint Holden

    • Lou Matheson

      Hi All

Holden redeigned the goose neck and fixed the issue.

I still own the car and have enjoyed 120,000 klms of trouble free motoring in this car

It hase been the best car I have owned and recommend it to anyone

The site says, “2007 Holden Ve Calais Warranty Complaint”.
    Not bitch and complain!

  • Andrew

Should of bought a ford. All though they are not without there problems.
Most people buy commodore because there mate’s have one not because there a good car. Makes me wonder why people have to be sheep and follow instead of lead and buy a half decent car.
Is it normal for the plastic parts on a VE to be a differnt shade colour than the main body ?

Go for it fan boys, ive got my flame suit on.

  • Tony

Well what else can I buy to put on lpg injection system? that is cheap on parts when they get old?

  • Twoguns357

Well Andrew (you twit) if you would take the time to read reviews on the ford and holdens you might have noticed that the Holdens are better across the board, also we dont have to listen noisy diff centres.

    • matt

why dont you just agree their both garbage?

  • Chris

I am using the VE comm. as hire cars on a frequent basis.
I must say that the commodore is the same as a Hyndai Getz, just bigger with a bigger motor.

The Quality is a huge Joke, but they got away with it so far, why spend more money of building these things, if people buy it anyway.

  • steve

Just purchased a v8 calais.so far so good.

  • Aleks

    Proud owner of Holden Rodeo`07.
No problems at all! Have had a big problems with my pr Toyota and Mitsu, will never touch the jap cars again.

    • Devil’s Advocate

Um Aleks, the Rodeo was in fact a “jap” car, even though most of those utes you mentioned are not longer built in Japan. It was an Isuzu with a Holden badge…

I have a VE V Calais 6litre. Very reliable, however the Battery time is an issue still.

    Overall a great car.

I have a Ford BF for work, also reliable but interior falls apart.

  • Mick Shrapnel

Just picked up my VE Calais. o6/07 model. Warning lights on dash telling me to check engine. Put in for service and told that the cam chain ajuster had streched the cam chains. Not covered by warrenty and cost is expected to be around $3000.

    NOT HAPPY

  • Trevor Green

I own a 2007 (purchased 2008) Holden VE Calais, V8, which has 15,377kms on the clock, and still under warranty.
When the car’s transmission is about to change from 2nd to 3rd gear – the engine’s rev’s increase and the car lurches as third gear takes hold. Mainly noticeable when cold starting.
The Dealership has tried re-learning the transmission’s software on two occasion to no evail. (There is a Holden internal memo listing this issue).I was told that there is nothing further that can be done to fix the fault, that the replacement of software or an exchange transmission is not an option due to compatibility problems. The Senior Customer Relations Officer in Melbourne advised me that “the 2nd to 3rd gear shift is a normal characteristic for a transmission that has not reached it’s ideal operating temperature, and is not detrimental to the transmissions operation.

    Not Happy Holden.

I have found a similar problem in My fathers Honda Accord(2008). Although it does not lurch to badly, when very cold it insists on holding lower gears and does rev up with the 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd changes. I asked the dealer, and she said it was a measure to ensure optimal temperature was reached as quickly as possible.
