Suzuki’s Indian partner, Maruti Suzuki,  has today debuted its new compact multi-purpose concept vehicle at New Delhi’s Auto Expo. Dubbed the R3 MPV concept, the mini people mover combines an impressive interior volume with a small overall footprint.

Designed by Maruti Suzuki’s Indian R&D Department, the R3 MPV concept boasts seating for six passengers (in three rows) while taking up no more space than a typical compact car.

The R3 MPV concept is believed to have some production value but, for now at least, Maruti Suzuki are keeping quiet on specification and engine details.

If given the production nod, the R3 MPV would undoubtedly be part of Suzuki’s Indian lineup.

Expect to see more of the reverse coke bottle hips in new MPVs. The new Opel Meriva has it and so does this, and I think it will be more common as it adds visual distraction to the otherwise boring lines of MPVs.

    P.S: Didn’t Proton copyright the R3 name?
