BMW M2 upgrade spied in the snow
A BMW M2 prototype wearing pre-production bumpers and some swirly camouflage has been snapped during cold weather testing this week.
The vehicle in the images features a new front bumper, headlights, grille, tail-lights and rear diffuser.
Some reports have suggested this is a prototype for a hardcore M2 CS, which will be a more track-focused version of the already dynamic coupe with a detuned version of the twin-turbo straight six from the M3/M4 twins along with suspension tweaks and aerodynamic enhancements.
However, the brakes on this particular vehicle are believed to be for the standard M2, so the rumours of a CS version are yet to be substantiated.
Regardless of whether this is a track version or not, expect the new M2 to get a revised look, updated materials and trims on the inside, the company's latest iDrive infotainment system, along with a slight bump in power and torque over the current car - which develops 272kW of power and 465Nm of torque from its 3.0-litre turbocharged straight-six.
These images of the updated M2 follow shots of the regular 2 Series facelift snapped last November, which also sports revised front- and rear-end treatments, which is likely to make its debut sometime later this year.
