Video: Aston Martin Cygnet free runners

By George Skentzos |

The Aston Martin Cygnet Concept certainly raised a few eye brows when it was first unveiled, combining perhaps two of the most unlikely marquees to produce a rather peculiar commuter vehicle.

While feedback has been mixed, Aston Martin is still keen for the Cygnet to enter production – likening it to an exclusive tender for a luxury yacht.

In order to enhance its appeal, Aston Martin has produced a video to showcase the Cygnet in a new light with the help of the popular urban sport of parkour.

Unlike the classically stunning videos we have come to expect from Aston Martin, this video brings a raw edge to the brand as the traceurs make their way through Aston Martin’s production facility before stumbling across the Cygnet.

    What a strange video…

Are we sure this is genuinely from Aston Martin?

Only reason I ask is that the fella who brought this up over at the AMOC (Aston Martin Owners Club) forums is being treated as if he’s a total idiot.

It’s certainly a good fake of the Aston factory if it\’s not genuine.

I think it is from Aston as no Cygnets have been sold yet.

      • brent

Yeah – seems to me it\’s some clever (if weird) marketing to get this thing viral on the internet.

Anyone who suggests it\’s legitimate over at AMOC though gets told they\’re a sucker and that it\’s the work of computer geeks who have nothing to do with Aston Martin. I wouldn\’t mind finding out if this is via Aston Martin if someone can confirm or deny??

Brent, this is definitely the Aston Martin facility in Gaydon. Having been there, I can confirm this is no fake.

haven’t you people ever heard of parkour… i love that stuff!

    • Baddass

I know what parkour is, I just don’t think this is a very good example of it. These guys seem to favour doing flips to jumping buildings.

Hmmmm Im starting to think that this is a big publicity stunt…. I wonder how much Toyota paid AML to get involved??????

  • Will

I wonder whether Aston have lowered the bar of the brand, or are using this machine purely as a marketing exercise…giving one away with each authentic Aston sold.

    Interesting concept.

They are actually using it as a way to bring down the average emissions of their fleet, as the impending Euro VI emissions targets couls not be met using the cars they currently produce. that was the official statement given to WHEELS magazine by Ulrich Bez.
