Renault Trafic recalled for rear axle fix

Renault has issued a recall for 1472 of its 2015 and 2016 Trafic III vans over concerns the rear axle may have a loose bolt.

According to the French manufacturer, a manufacturing fault is the cause of the issue, with affected units potentially making abnormal noises, and tyre friction inside the wheel arch.

If the condition occurs, there could be a risk of the rear axle uncoupling from the body, which poses a significant hazard for the driver and other road users.

Affected Trafic vans were sold from 1 July 2015 through 21 January 2016. The VIN range for the affected units are VF11FL112E0709587 to VF11FL118G0733943, though not all vehicles within the set are affected.

Owners of the recalled vehicles will be notified by Renault and are advised to contact their local dealer to arrange for inspection and rectification of their vehicle.
