Peugeot 207 SW (Station Wagon) & SW RC

August 31, 2007 by Alborz Fallah

Its Peugeot day today at CarAdvice, with our garage glowing with a 207 CC and the on again off again 207 GTi. Whilst we were busy enjoying the excellent driving dynamics of the 207 range, Peugeot released details of a new addition to the 207 lineup, a 207 Station Wagon – 207 SW.

The French company is keen to exploit the 207 platform, and we can’t blame them! With remarkable handling, surprising performance and near impossible fuel efficiency, the 207 SW should perform well above average for the bean counters.

Made for those who enjoy an active lifestyle while requiring a multi-talented vehicle, the 207 SW is designed for both leisure use and as a people carrier… in short, as Peugeot says, a multitude of possibilities (marketing hype is great).

The standard variant will use a naturally aspirated 1.6-litre engine, but to top it off, Peugeot is also releasing a performance variant, the 207 SW RC.

Powered by a 1.6-litre THP (Turbo High Pressure) engine (same engine as the 207 GTi), the RC punches out 128 kW (from 1600 rpm) and 240 Nm (260 Nm once on “overboost” function).

This car, alongside the Peugeot concepts and the 308 Hybrid (more on that soon) will be at the Frankfurt Motorshow… and so will we.
