We have just returned from England where we drove a Kia C'eed rental car. We covered over 1200 miles (not k's!) in 7 days in this little ripper.
Gutsy diesel motor would do anything we asked of it, including climbing Hardknott Pass in Cumbria, the highest parts of Britain without complaint.
We have no reservations about this vehicle at all, and would highly recommend it. Having never been a Kia fan before, we are surely now converted. We would love one of these, when are they going to be available in Oz?

How can the 'Koreans be catching up' if the car is European designed and built. This proves nothing about Korea. Just proves that the europeans still build the best cars in the world STILL.

Roberto...

It's all relative...what other vehicles in the Getz class have better quality and performance? certainly not the Holden/Daewoo barina. it's a rental! many rentals are rough compared to the same makes and models due to the way many are treated, at least Hyundai will back these issues with a 5 year unlimited klm warranty as opposed to most other makes who give a paltry 3 year 100klm warranty.
5 stars for crash performace is impressive, no matter how you look at it.
I'm only stating that Kia, like some koren makes are improving and exceeding many established mainstream brands...

Yes I agree this is a nice car.

Whilst on the subject of Korean cars Adam = hopefully it will be better then the current Hyundai Getz (hire car with 40K kms) I drove up at Cairns for 1 week - the rear parcel shelf behind back seats always rattled, motor rough, noise control was not great, trim finish varied the more one looked around and the steering wheel had embossed leather at 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock and where it finished on the steering wheel was not the same (one side was some 5mms plus from where otherside finished) and it was roughly finished. Too many people are jumping on the bandwagon saying they have caught up... I now say no dam way!

Totally agree. Fantastic warranty, great crash results, will be a great price, handling dynamics maybe average, good looks...the Koreans are catching up big time.
