Battery Cables

Battery Cables
These are used to connect the battery to the rest of the car. The battery cables must be of sufficient size to carry such heavy current as a starting motor will draw about 200 amps of current. The cables are prone to corroding as they are close to the battery and therefore it is important that the cables make good electrical contact with the cable clamps. Similarly, clamps must make good electrical contact with the battery posts. Any looseness or corrosion could result in high resistance and consequent voltage drop.

I have been looking for what I believe is a fairly common part. I am looking for a battery cable for a 1997 Dodge Grand Caravan with a 3.3 liter engine. I need the positive cable which I have since found out is directly connected to the solenoid. There is also another narrower cable that is hardwired from the lug to the fuse box. This piece that connects with the fuse box corroded and separated. I have not been able to find another one of sufficient type. So far, since Labor Day, I have not found any at car parts stores, junk yards or from a Dodge dealer. I have been told that I could fashion one myself but the cable to the fuse box was hardwired and I have no way of welding.
Please help.
