I feel sorry for the people that have been stood down, but I also feel sorry for Ford Australia. They were the only company left in Australia that actually built and produced an engine here. There is no one else to blame but the stupid people who think that Ford is purely an American Brand Name and chose to buy from a car brand that claims to be Australian made...

Just read on www.smh.com.au that the strike is to end tomorrow and workers will receive 100% of their entitlements. So Ford can start up the assembly line again

This is exactly why Australia is loosing business. Companies don't care much on how we handle strikes, they care about lowering costs. This is going to cost Australia, not just car but other manufacturing industries dearly.

Poor workers stood down without pay, but Ford is also loosing. We Aus is loosing credibility. Any decision to open or expand Aus manufacturing facility will be need to be justified twice.

A true said story for car industry.

Frugal

Your pessimistic attitude sickens me.

It is beyond me how anyone could get pleasure from a story like this.

Perhaps you would rather Australia had no car industry what so ever.

Can you read?? or you choose to be ignorant?

The strike at venture has nothing to do with Ford, the falcon or Fords employees...
venture employees are striking over job entitlements, which supplies Ford with major vehicle components, until Ford is able to source parts they can't build vehicles...
Understand? it's written in plain english in the article, how much easier does it have to be?

Why they made guns illegal to purchase is beyond me!

>>>>>>

This is true!

They have been stood down WITHOUT pay.

Just imagain when they go back to work, the *quality* of workmanship on the production-line to get back at Ford for letting this drag on.Payback time.

The fact is Falcon is doomed, why are they continuing to make this when its sales are falling and falling, the market no longer wants this type of vehicle. [note Fairlane/LTD have already had the chop]

Maybe car manufacture in AUS. will come down to 2 brands, Toyota and GMH, Mitusbishi must be so close to shutting shop position?

U wont see Ford or Mitsu go, just be a importer like the majority

Cheers

I just feel sorry for all the workers involved trying to pay mortgages etc. It's hard enough as it is without this mess.

***PRIMO***!

In 10 years time the production line will be stopped for good.

Well for the Falcon that is.

Sales are down and down every quarter, cannot go on like this!

Cheers
