My partner & I have just purchased a Black Kia Sorento Si in Diesel. As we now have added a dog to the family, with 3 little kids, the Sedan we had was becoming a tight squeeze. We liked the well appointed Sli but couldnt justify the extra 3-4 grand. We have added front and rear parking sensors though ($900). We have only owned the vehicle for a week, so we took it for a decent drive through the windy and hilly back roads of the Mornington Peninsula. We are very happy with how it handles and the seats are supportive and comfortable. The engine is smooth & eager to please. The one niggle we have so far is that our iphone cord was faulty and doesn't work. The dealership have ordered us a new one and it should be here in a week. We are delighted with our purchase, The Sorento is so much better value than a Ford Territory or Toyota Kluger, of which we test drove both and we kept coming back to the Kia. The Holden Captiva (although cheaper) couldnt match the Sorento for internal Space. We traded in a 16 month old Ford Falcon G6 and we have not regretted moving into a Korean built car. I would happily recommend anyone who is looking at a Family vehicle thats flexible, well equipped, comfortable and above all good value for money, the Sorento is certainly worth a test drive, like us you will be surprised by the package!

Hi Ken,

I believe you must have taken delivery of your Sorento, lucky man. I am also looking at getting one, Platinum with Titan Silver/Begie leather, would love to know what price did you end up paying?

Cheers!

We purchased the SLI December 09.
Todate we have travelled 19k. We tow a Cub camper weighing in at 600kg. The thing just impresses without flaw. In terms of fuel efficiency, we have acheived 900klms from a tank on highway w/o camper. Off road ability is impressive & not let us down on sand etc. At 102kg's & 6ft, I have no issues in terms of room behind the wheel, very comfortable. The 7 seat layout is good when needing to seat 7, yes, the rear 2 will accomodate 2 normal people, & when not in use, the floor space is ample with both mid & rear seat down. Important factor to concider is maintenance & importantly the use of full sythetic oil in the engine.
Only negative is the rear vision through rear window. This will be sorted with fittment of a camera system.
When comparing with the Territory - DON'T! After having 2 AWD'S, never again.
Highly recommend the Sorento.

Bought my Titanium Platinum 2 weeks ago as a demo with 300kms on it for $47,500 with tow package included ( about $1100 worth)
We almost bought a demo Challenger for $52,500 but once we drove this we realised we get so much more for our (less) money. If you can get passed the badge issue you actually realise what a great car they are!
