As the eagerly awaited Aston Martin Rapide enters the final stages of engineering and testing ahead of its launch early next year, UK pricing for the four-door sports car has today been confirmed.
The Rapide will start from £139,950 (AUD$252,390) in the UK and will include as standard such features as a Bang & Olufsen Beosound audio system, tailored specifically for Rapide, heated memory seats, dual cast brakes and Adaptive Damping System.
Customer deliveries are expected to commence at the beginning of quarter two 2010, and it will be the first sports car to be hand-built at the Aston Martin Rapide Plant in Graz, Austria. The new 17,000 m2 building has been designed to reflect the quality levels established in Gaydon since 2003 permitting the fusion of modern technology, advanced manufacturing processes and hand-built craftsmanship. Each Rapide will take approximately 220 man hours to build and will benefit from timeless craft skills just like the existing range; DBS, DB9, V12 and V8 Vantage do at Gaydon.
It is anticipated that approximately 2,000 Rapides will be built in the first year attracting a high proportion of new customers to the brand.
The Rapide is on sale now available to order from the Aston Martin dealership network around the world.

A very beautiful car! I wouldn’t mind owning one of them.
too bad australia sucks donkey tail and will cost over twice that much
Ditto that UMWAHT…..pathetic isnt it…seeing it only cost MAXIMUM $3-4000 per full container…
pathetic the taxes and charges we get shafted with…
With no options it will be over AUD $320,000.00 drive away with over $58,000.00 in LCT and $12,620.00 in Stamp Duty (VIC). No wonder there are hardly any rich people in Oz.
You really do have to feel sorry for the rich.
I think you’re still a bit off. A DB9 in the UK costs about 110,000 pounds, but in Australia it starts at about 350,000 dollars. If the Rapide starts at 140,000 pounds, then it will probably be well over 500,000 dollars on the road, possibly up to about 600,000 dollars with options, but it doesn’t sound as if there are many available anyway.
And in that price range it’s all about revenue raising, not protection of the local industry.
THat is a real beauty. Absolutely love the look and design.
I often think that a Bentley Flying Spur is all the car that I would ever need; If I only had enough money for either that or the Rapide, I am afraid the Rapide would win. Absolutely gorgeous and faultless.
