Hyundai is really gearing up itself to maintain its position in market... but it should improve its product a little or so.... and definitely German handling and modern style like Japanese will be like icing on the cake.....

Hi,

I think Hyundai have done extremely well, competing against some power forces like Toyota and Holden, Hyundai have done extremely well in building cars that target first car buyers. Kids get their L's by completing their learner's test and then their practical driving test, Hyundai have cleverly marketed the "right" price to these guys. By right, I mean affordable.

They have also placed a bigger effort on building safe cars, giving parents the assurance that their kids will be safer in Hyundai than ever before.

Well done Hyundai!

Car Fanatic.
Mate you are FOS.

I have been going there for over 15 years every year,
and that place is one of the most technologically advanced
places in the world.
It has been awesome to see the rapid development of the
country which is reflected in their cars.
The Koreans seem to be able to bridge the gap of American
and European influence whilst maintaining their own identity,
again reflected in their car design.

Wouldn't expect most of the suburban trogladite,
consumption drones here to appreciate this though.

It is just logical step.

South Korea getting world most cutting edged auto industry. not only engine but also steel tech.
Korean Posco steel made world most solid ultra high strength steel. (more than 70% solid than normal steel plate) even toyota will use this.

- Stronger, lighter, and more beautiful
- 590MPa class outer body panel able to withstand 60kg per 1mm2
- Strength 70% Up, Weight 20% Down

POSCO has developed the world`s first 590 MPa class galvannealed steel sheets for automotive outer body panels. This steel sheet displays a significant increase in strength but is lighter in weight and more elegant in appearance than existing steel sheets.

Success in Developing 980MPA-Grade High-Strength Steel
"POSCO recently has succeeded in developing 980MPA high-strength steel, which is capable of withstanding 100 kilograms of pressure per square millimeter."

Korea as whole is an amazing place. I recently spent 11 days there, next week I am going back there for 3 months just for a holiday. I think you need to experience the place, people and culture to truly understand what a great place it is. Much of their cultural traits of respect and truthfulness are now filtering in to how they make cars and how they treat customers. I used to think Japan was the most technically forward country, now I know it is South Korea. Do your self a favor, go see the place.

Good job Hyundai. It just shows how this car maker improved over the years...design, features and specs. Cost effectiveness is also a factor amidst global crisis.

maybe the australian car industry can learn something from the korean. i remember they entered the australian market over 10 years ago and at that stage their cars were awful with a really bad perception on quality. so what did they do??? they introduce driveaway prices, better customer service, and i think they were the first one to offer a very good warranty (3yrs/unlimited kms)on their cars. so now they are selling like hot cakes around the world. the australians on the other hand haven't done much to fix their customers' concern. reliability has improved to an extent BUT could be alot better and customer service compared to other manufacturer could also be better.
