Any way, the first Holden ute the FX that's mistakin as the worlds first was not verry good. there was a problem with the weak bodies they had, there bodies whold spread out if you put to much in them. That problem was fixed with the FJ.

Me - you claim that the VE wagon is merely a hatchback. Yet if you look at the majority of other Wagons available such as BMW; Merc; Chrysler 300C; Audi; Mazda6; Saab; Honda etc you will see that their load area isn't that much bigger than the VE in some cases its actually smaller.

Anyway If you want a car with a big payload buy a Ute

As for Holden Utes not being any good.. look at how many old Holden [and Ford] utes are still going around even after years of rough treatment on farms and construction sites.
A number of them have been turned into street machines or show cars However; they must have still been in fairly reasonable condition at the start for their owners to work on instead of ending up in a scrap yard. Because inorder to build a ggod car you first need good foundations -body; chassis etc

'Holdrolet' can't make a real wagon or ute that is good, so they use the 'Proudly Australian' trick to capture Australians heart and to change the Ford v Holdrolet war so Holdrolet won't fail.

I’ll pass thanks. If I wanted a ute I’d get one that can actually carry a proper load. To me, having to use a trailer defeats the purpose. If you want something sporty, at least a sedan has more seats.

More plastic than a lego factory.

I don't care what they might say about the "the best Australian wagon" is better than the Ford Falcon Wagon.
I know that who ever says that are just F***ing dumb bulls*** artists.
They know them selves that this is more like a hatchback than a wagon and know that it is alot worse than the Falcon wagon.

If what I said does happen, they are just trying to make people they good because they might fail, so they have to use the "Holdrolet is Australian trick" to save themselves from failure.

Missile - the latest issue of Wheels has an article on the VE Wagon. Tis mostly speculation as to what it could; should or probably will have based on insider info

It says the tailgate could be 2 piece where the bottom half folds down or it could have a one piece tailgate with the rear window on sepperate hinges to open independently.
It also mentions that there is a fair bit of influence from BMW and the 300C which could mean the tailgate hinge is in the roofline

Another point is that the Wagon was expected to be buitlt on the LWB which now underpins the Ute However recent reports state it will use the same platform as the Sedan.

The wagon is expected to be released in March alongside the VE2 yet could be unveiled at the Sydney Motor Show

Bavarian Missile - My local Holden Dealer told me that the VE wagon is a goer..The reason for the delay with the Wagon could have something to do with Holdens export program.

Normally Holden release the ute at the same as time or shortly after the sedan However; at the launch of the VE the WM Statesman was released before the Ute inorder to meet demand in the middle east.
The ute is next as its expected to be exported to the USA - and I have heard that the UK is a possibility
Because there are no plans to export the Wagon Holden will most likely the launch until next year around the same time as the VE2

I read something on the weekend that the VE wagon isn't happening. Anyone else heard anything on the subject ? With the new ute having the same wheel base for the first time as the sedan and mid size 4WD taking more of the market manufactures are looking at canning wagons.
