FPV Limited Edition ‘Cobra GT Falcon’

August 28, 2007 by Matt Brogan

Ford forums are rife with rumour this week that FPV are to release a limited edition ‘Cobra GT Falcon’ to commemorate the 30th Anniversary of Allan Moffat and Colin Bond’s historic 1977 form-finish at Bathurst.

To be unofficially unveiled at this year’s Bathurst, the 302kW Boss V8 powered sedan will see it’s official release at Sydney’s International Motor Show. There is also speculation that a ute variant will follow, perhaps based on the Super Pursuit.

Like the GT 40th Anniversary model, they are only to be available in one colour, obviously white with blue stripes, and will be limited to a run of 250 units. The bonnet decal will read ‘Boss 302′ but all other specs are to be the same as the 40th Anniversary model. Pricing is said to be $71,500.

Some dealers are said to be taking orders but Ford remains tight lipped. As always, we’ll keep you posted.

    Hey Boss,

You could try http://www.dreamscience.eu/australila or http://www.fordmods.com They’re a couple of forums who’ll put you in touch with the right people.

Alternately give the guys at Castlemaine Rod Shop a call. They make a few kits (CRS Superchargers) for Holden & Ford themselves and I’m sure could steer you in the right direction.

    Cheers Matt.

Have picked up my new Cobra a bit over a week ago, and for all the disbelievers, it drives a whole heap better than any of the BA/BF GT’s I have driven in the past. At 400km on the odometer the engine is livening up quite nicely, and the R-Spec suspension handles just great. Cost was the quoted RRP + on-roads, and I ordered it in July 07. Thanks go to Dave at Centre Ford for looking after me.
I have to feel sorry for the people who paid dealer-inflated prices of $82K and $93K that I have heard about…
For the record, all 8 pot FPV’s built after Sept 07 on have the 302kW Boss motor, so the bonnet decals are correct. And I believe that McInerney’s in Morley have an Auto for sale if anyone is keen.
