Joining our spy photos gallery this morning comes these exclusive shots of what’s to become the first major facelift for the popular Nissan Dualis (sold as Qashqai in some markets) crossover SUV.

From what’s visible in these super-tele shots, we reckon the car will receive a complete new front fascia plus slight modifications to the rear bumper and taillights.

We haven’t heard anything about a new interior but we trust Nissan will put a strong emphasis on greener engines. Expect the re-designed model to go on sale in Europe from mid-2010. Australia will most likely follow shortly thereafter.

It really needs a bigger engine for Australia. The 2.0L seems to be quite weak though at least it is mated to a CVT. A diesel option here would be good! Are they going to bring out the 7-seat version to Oz?

The CVT tranny is what kills what meagre performance the Dualis had, better a dual clutch system

I like the Qashqai+2 (the seven seater), but isn’t the point of the car that it is a cross between a hatchback and an SUV? A seven-seater doesn’t fit in with it’s purpose.

So Nissan is going to replace the Dualis that is only a couple of years old BEFORE the Tiida??! IMO Nissan should seriously think about killing the Tiida off and push through development of a better quality product to replace it.

The Dualis is a ok car. But like you all say, with the right engine and trans, it could be a really good car. Its roomy, well built and is the sort of car that a lot of people want. But it needs a dual clutch semi auto and an engine with some grunt.

UNFORTUNATELY I PURCHASED A NISSAN DUALIS – CLUTCH HAS FAILED AT 40000K AND NISSAN WILL NOT REPAIR BY WARRANTY ITS GOING TO COST OVER $4000 TO FIX – THEY ARE SAYING ITS WEAR AND TEAR BUT ITS DEFINATELY FAULTY TO FAIL SO SOON WITH NO TOWBAR AND MAINLY HYWAY USAGE– OTHER WARRANTY ISSUES ONGOING AND STILL NISSAN NOT INTERESTED-
