Female focus:: Ladies Day at MotorWorld Sydney is Thursday, December 1

Ladies! Swap the heels for sensible driving shoes - particularly if you want to put your foot down in an exotic supercar. Thursday, December 1, is Ladies Day at MotorWorld Sydney and the focus will be on women and cars.

Guys, you are of course still welcome to attend the event on the Thursday and participate in the general program of events, test drives and competitions. However, there will be some extra inclusions in the day's agenda, tailored specifically to the ladies.

As well as the many activities outlined in our recent story on the highlights of what to expect, from 2pm there will be ladies-only driving sessions, guest speakers, access to a VIP section in the Grid Club, priority access to test drives - including the Lotus Elise, Range Rover Evoque convertible, classic Porsches and Abarth 124 Spider - as well as competitions, driving skills experiences, and the day will finish with a cocktail party and round-table discussion.

Best of all, the CarAdvice.com ladies will be there so you can come along and say hi, and check out what we're getting up to.

Mandy Turner won The Correspondent last year and is now officially on deck as a fully-fledged member of the CA team. She says she's looking forward to the cocktail party because it's something different in the automotive scene.

"Having the chance to dress up will be a nice break from wearing my hoodie! Plus it will be amazing to mingle with like-minded women who love cars," she said.

Mandy will be roving MotorWorld Sydney with a microphone over the four days, chatting to people in the crowd for the podcast and radio show she works on. Her passion for cars comes from her dad, and seeing him restoring old cars.

"Seeing how a car was put together got me intrigued, and that led to me buying my first car at age 12, which I later sold for a huge $120."

She hopes that women leave MotorWorld Sydney feeling confident about cars and that every woman can realise just how cars can be a stress reliever from busy schedules.

"Clean the car, leave the kids and other half at home, and take a scenic road that you've never travelled," is her advice to ladies who love to drive.

Our marketing and communications executive, Kathryn Marshall, is passionate about women feeling empowered throughout the car purchasing process and believes Ladies Day at MotorWorld Sydney can help encourage that.

"I wish every woman knew that research is the most crucial step in the new car buying process. It is so important to read and watch expert reviews so that you understand your options and how those options meet your requirements. Knowledge is power!," Marshall said.

"As a woman with a career in the auto industry, I'm looking forward to attending a number of the Speakers Corner sessions throughout Ladies Day. Starting with TAFE Western Sydney Institute's Careers in the Auto Industry at 2:30pm, the schedule contains back-to-back relevant and relatable sessions that I believe will be really interesting and useful. I'm also keen to see what discussions come out of the CarAdvice, Fun Cars for Women segment at 5:30pm."

Friend of CarAdviceEmily Duggan, will be hanging around at the CA stand and will be a guest judge at the CarAdvice Mega Test Fest.

Emily is looking forward to Ladies Day so she can talk cars and motorsport all day with like-minded women. Her passion for cars has taken her as far as being a competitive racer.

"As a racing car driver, my passion for cars comes from driving and taking them to their limits. From a young age I've had a fascination with cars and how they work," Duggan said.

When it comes to what she hopes women will take away from MotorWorld Sydney, Duggan simply wants them to discover new and different cars. When she's not at the CarAdvice.com stand, you'll probably find her gazing at the supercars.

As for me, I'm looking forward to chatting with women at the show to find out what they want to know about cars and where their interests lie, answer any questions and encourage everyone to get in and have a go. I hope the ladies who attend learn something new, get to drive their dream car, ignite an adventurous spark and have a lot of fun.

You can find me at the SUV Mega Test, on the podium in the Speakers Corner and hanging with the CA crew at the stand.

The CarAdvice ladies, and the rest of the team, will be at Sydney Motorsport Park over the four days of MotorWorld Sydney, so come and say hi.
