2017 Skoda Octavia facelift revealed further, RS performer rendered

One of this year's more polarising debuts, the newly facelifted 2017 Skoda Octavia, has been detailed further in new images today.

Could the Volkswagen-owned Czech brand be reacting to debate drummed up in the comments sections of auto sites across the web? 'Here's some sunny new shots, maybe that will help…'

Although a largely subtle makeover, the Octavia's key styling change is to its headlights, now divided in the vein of older fourth-generation Mercedes-Benz E-Class or the pre-facelift look of Volvo's ageing 60-series models.

Other tweaks, as revealed last week, include lightly updated tail lamps with a new LED signature, and a big new infotainment display that will likely also appear in the updated Volkswagen Golf when it debuts later this month.

Skoda has yet to reveal the updated Octavia in top-shelf RS form, although this new speculative rendering by independent artist X-Tomi Design is likely an accurate view (if a little on the delectably low side).

Watch for more on the updated Octavia range to come in the months ahead, with the tweaked line-up set to debut in Australia around the middle of next year.
