So Alan Gray says it will pay him back in 4 years? He saves $11 per 100km, or 11 cents per km driven.

The electric Getz costs $30,000 more than a petrol one. So, thinking simplistically he has to drive 273,000km to break even. That works out to driving at a steady 50kph, 8 hours a day for nearly 6 months.

With any electric car it is hard to make a financial justification.

Good to see some action, funny how a small aussie company operating out of country victoria has managed to beat all the major manufactures at getting an ADR certified EV on the road. Not to mention it appears to be cheaper than any other EV thats heading our way in the next few years.

Whats the service cost going to be for the EV Getz BEV, its not like the mechanic has to do a lot when he services an engine with one moving part.

Thats very good news to hear. Cant wait to see all those Holden Volts and new electric cars whizzing around silently. That scheme form BEV also sounds very good if you think of it in terms of the savinngs per 100 km
