2017 Kia Picanto reveals Rio-inspired face in leaked photo
An image revealing the face of the next-generation 2017 Kia Picanto has leaked online before the new model’s debut in the coming months.
Kia’s tiniest hatch hasn’t even been on sale in Australia for a year, but the current car was first launched in Europe back in 2011.
Revealed by online blog Kia World, the leaked image shows just the face of the new micro hatch, though you’d be forgiven for thinking you were looking at the recently-revealed 2017 Kia Rio.

The aggressive front is very similar to its larger sibling, with more angular headlights and larger air intakes - though these are largely cosmetic.
It appears the next-generation hatches could also preview the company’s next design direction for their next-generation passenger car range, which in Australia includes the Carnival, Cerato, Optima, Rondo and Soul.
Little else has been revealed thus far about the next-generation Picanto, though it’s likely the new model will feature an updated engine range - potentially the 1.0-litre turbocharged three-cylinder that will be available in the new Rio and is also offered in the Cee’d in Europe.

Expect the new micro hatch to be revealed sometime early next year, before hitting Australian showrooms by the end of 2017.
