2017 BMW M5 component renderings surface online
We may not have been lucky enough to see the new 2017 BMW M5 revealed alongside its lesser 5 Series siblings last week, but these new renderings could be our closest look yet at the new super sedan.
America’s The Cammed and Tubbed Podcast claims to have received these product renderings from a BMW employee.
Previewing the front and rear of the new M5, the renderings give us a glimpse at what’s to come from the German performance model.
Up front, the lower front bumper has been given an aggressive - and familiar - makeover, with larger and more angular intakes likely feeding a twin-turbocharged V8.
Out the back, the changes are a little more subtle, though there is a diffuser-style rear bumper treatment and large cutouts for the M5’s tailpipes.
While not pictured, it’s almost a certainty that the new M5 will feature several other unique design elements over the regular 2017 5 Series, including larger side skirts, bigger and wider alloy wheels, and quad tailpipes at the rear.
Timing for the next-generation M5 is unknown, however several camouflaged prototypes have been spotted recently looking almost production ready, so it shouldn’t be too far away.
Stay tuned to CarAdvice for more M5 updates over the coming months.
