Mercedes-Benz G-Class recalled for wiring fix:: eight vehicles affected
Mercedes-Benz has issued a recall for eight of its rugged G-Class or ‘G-Wagen’ models, over concerns a wiring fault could cause the engine to cut out while driving.
The German marque reports the engine wiring harness could come into contact with components within the engine compartment, which could result in damage to the wiring harness.
A damaged wiring harness could cause the engine to cut out while driving, which poses a hazard to the occupants of the vehicle and other road users.
Owners of the affected vehicles will be contacted by Mercedes-Benz via mail, and will be advised of the steps needed to have the the fault repaired free of charge.
Jerry Stamoulis, public relations manager at Mercedes-Benz Australia, confirmed with CarAdvice that no instances of the fault have been reported locally.
