The stop-start automatic in my car (Freelander TD4.e) will start the motor again if the air condition requires it. When we had permanently temperatures over 30 degrees one or two weeks ago, it made no sense to activate the automatic.

AUDI/VW!!!!!!! Please explain to me why the air conditioners compressor is being run off the cars engine and not an independent electric motor if you are trying to save fuel???????? Wouldn’t that solve the problem??

Can anybody explain how being a “hot country” affects the stop-start technology? Just curious.
