2017 Nissan Micra teased ahead of Paris reveal

The new 2017 Nissan Micra has been teased in a video today, ahead of its unveiling at the Paris motor show later this month.

In the short new video, we get a glimpse of the next Micra's headlights and tail-lights, as well as part of the bonnet, grille, front bumper, and tailgate.

The last set of spy photos of the new Micra, taken near the end of July, indicate that the Micra will share its platform, doors and underlying structure with the recently facelifted Renault Clio.

From the video, we can see that Micra will feature a redesigned front end with a unique set of bumpers, fenders, and lights, as well as a new bonnet and the brand's V-motion grille.

At the back, the Micra will be distinguished from the Clio with squarer tail-lights and a different design for the tailgate, with the number plate housing shifting up from the rear bumper to the hatch.

Compared to the Clio, with which the Micra will share a factory from the end of the year, the small Nissan will have sharper, edgier styling.

Australia

It's unclear at this stage whether the new Micra will be sold outside of Europe.

Speaking to CarAdvice in July, Nissan Australia said that it had “no information” on whether it will reintroduce the Micra into the local light -car fray.
