not to mention that a stock standard VZII L76 SIX LITER SS with 6 speed manual + 245mm rubber beats all of them around the track with only 260kW of power and 510Nm of torque. Does not seem much, but VZII SS weighs 120-180kg less than both GT and GTS.

Nice car the F6 but too much of a one trick pony ie great acceleration. The 325 kw HSV GTS in the latest MOTOR test - get this- is a whopping 3.5 seconds a lap quicker than the Falcon GT and the GT in previous track tests was marginally quicker than the F6. A quick look at the 2010 Bathurst 12 hour results will also confirm that the VE is quicker. So if you want overall handling braking and speed it's the GTS every time over the much (Car Advice) overrated F6.

@J

Wider tyres - more rubber on the track. The more rubber (aka surface area) allows for all the power to be spread over a larger area which therefore decrease the strain on each mm^2 (etc) and increased traction.

Its the same principle in physics as to why an airbag puts less pressure on the body and slows you more than a seatbelt, the surface area is larger than that of a seat belt, and therefore allows increased deceleration with less pressure exerted on each point.

EDIT: Oh bugger, just noticed there is someone else here using 'JP'!!!

I think(dont hold me to it? the Sedan is beacaue the IRS system in the sedan puts the power to the ground better. The leaf spring rear end has to much axel tramp, but with modification the leaf spring rear end would be best cause its what is still used in drag cars for a better launch. But standard the sedan

Surely the centre head rest obscures rear vision, and is a passive safety risk?! We have collectively gone mad with OH&S...

I believe that is because the test car is pre-production, and gets the "P" prefix.
Looking at the old T3, there was one red pre-production model that featured in magazine shoots back in 2002. It, too had "P" before its serial.
