2017 Infiniti QX30 pricing and specs: Q30 high-rider gets a rugged companion

Local pricing and specifications for the 2017 Infiniti QX30 range have been revealed, with the new SUV starting at $48,900 before on-road costs.

Acting as a more rugged companion to the Q30 hatch in a similar vein to what the Mercedes-Benz GLA is to the A-Class - which it shares many components with - the QX30 comes in a two-model range and with one engine/transmission combination.

Both the QX30 GT and Premium are powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine, producing 155kW of power and 350Nm shared with the A250 and GLA250, with both mated exclusively to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

The QX30 also comes standard with all-wheel drive and rides 35mm higher than its front-wheel driven Q30 sibling.

Infiniti hasn’t scrimped on kit either, with the base GT’s features list including 18-inch ‘snowflake’ alloy wheels, electric folding and heated mirrors, satin chrome roof rails, black mirror caps, adaptive LED headlights with LED daytime-running lights, automatic high beam and LED tail-lights.

There's also cloth-trimmed seats, black lacquer interior trim, six-way electrically-adjustable front seats with electric driver’s lumbar support, nappa leather steering wheel and single-zone climate control air-conditioning.

Infotainment is accessed by a 7.0-inch central touchscreen, which also includes satellite navigation as standard, hooked up to a 10-speaker Bose sound system.

Safety-wise, the QX30 is decked out with seven airbags, autonomous emergency braking (AEB), forward collision warning, tyre pressure monitoring system and stability control.

The top-spec Premium variant ($56,900 plus on-roads) adds a surround camera system, blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, automatic parking assistance, lane departure warning, rear cross traffic alert and traffic sign recognition.

Stepping up to the QX30 Premium also sees the addition of a fixed glass roof, memory function for the exterior mirrors, nappa leather upholstery, wood trim inserts, eight-way electrically-adjustable front seats, folding rear centre armrest with cupholders, along with automatic dual-zone climate control with rear air vents.

Australian-bound QX30s are assembled in Sunderland, UK, while the engines are assembled in Germany.

The QX30 is covered by Infiniti’s four-year/100,000km warranty, while scheduled maintenance is required every 25,000km or 12 months - whichever comes first.

Infiniti has detailed the cost of the first three services; $415, $592 and $618 respectively, averaging just over $540 per service and costing $1625 for the first three years.
