SIDI = Spark Ignition Direct Injection. So it has spark plugs and direct fuel injection. Well spark plugs have been around for 150 years, and I believe direct injection was first used on a production car by Mercedes Benz in 1953.
Here’s a suggestion for the next holden marketing campaign – fit a badge saying ICE. Internal Combustion Engine. Why not pretend that’s a new thing to?

600 engineers and the 4 cyl plant closure and thousands sacked over the last few years and factory still running at nowhere near capacity should be the headline. How much does OBAMA GM pay for the media bias it gets in this country? The DIDI Direct Injection is nowhere near as good as it should be as the 4 litre non-DI engine in the Falcon still gets better economy…….after spending all that money they came up with that? from all the media positive feedback GM get here anyone would think GM is doing ok in this country……..when its quite the opposite in reality.

is that customers for the motor in general, or holdens supply.

I do believe they still make the 3.6L elsewhere aswell…..

This is fantastic news for the workers. The Holden bashers are nowhere to be seen. It just goes to prove though that the public will soak up anything.

I said it from the start, who cares about fuel economy.. Holdens marketing of recent has been spot on!

Still a few down on the 900/day capacity.
Seriously though this is positive news.
The article also fails to mention the 2.8 litre version, which is actually one of the biggest exports.
