Limited Edition F6 R-Spec Typhoon
August 17, 2007 by George Skentzos
Ford Performance Vehicles have released their newest addition to the R-Spec breed – the F6 R-Spec Typhoon.
It’s release makes it FPV’s first six-cylinder to receive the R-Spec suspension.
This new addition to the FPV stable adds distinctive R-Spec badging, and ‘Dark Argent’ gunmetal accents on the wheels and rear spoiler as standard. With production limited to just 300 units, the new F6 R-Spec will come with a unique build certificate of authenticity.
Barrett said FPV has customised the R-Spec package to maximise the handling characteristics of the Typhoon, allowing drivers of the limited edition F6 R-Spec to extract the best possible performance out of their vehicle, with the most significant change being the front end damper tune.
“The initial idea behind R-Spec was to provide an FPV vehicle for those people who wanted to be more competitive at track days and club sprint events, but who didn’t want to compromise on the comfort of daily driving either,”
With the GT 40th Anniversary limited edition – the first to receive the R-Spec treatment – receiving such positive responses FPV have continued it in their force-fed Typhoon.
The F6 R-Spec is available in Winter White, Lightning Strike, Vixen, Neo, Ego and Silhouette mated to either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission, with a recommended retail price starting from $63,310*.

Making an already awesome ford even more awesomer. Thats probably the fastest falcon ever, and it still looks up to date.
who wants a bet that this will be the orion FPV suspension tune for GT, GT-P & F6 while Force 6 & 8 will have something similar to now
they could at least extracted 10kw more of the engine, no ford gives us something boring as always!
Searously have 280 now and have 300 later, is that so hard.
boring car?? well what do you drive then SRTargets??
Ummm boring? You must drive a Lamborghini Gallardo or a Ferrari of some kind if you think any varient of the F6 Typhoon is boring…
this is road test the handling for the upcoming orion i would think, real life testing, as power is the easy part, handling the power is the hard part, so well done ford!!!!
Will every one who orderd it get it? There is only 300 made and it’s showin on the FPV website.
Yep all the new phoons ordered will come with the R Spec,300 is a few cars. That should get them through till the Orion arrives. The Cobras too will have the RSpec suspension .Contacted the dealer today and left a message for him to call back, still waiting.
