I am very close to buying a 2008 4.8, What are your opinions. $39990, 48000km in good condition as far as i can see. Am I missing something here, sounds cheap !

i have 2001, 3l turbo diesel patrol….it had a replacement engine fitted recently because it overheated badly and was cheaper to buy an imported block and head, and we used to be able to travel at speed and had a lot of power…now we have lost all power, and only get 40/50 kph up hill and max 100kph on the flat…..we have new turbo, new injectors, new filters, no fault on the analysis computer….does anyone have any suggestions….do we see if it is fuel starvation from the injector pump, or from iside the fuel tank…..this is africa, and not the right place for anything but old school non electronic diesel engine….i should have avoided sophisticated electronically controlled vehicles, as this feels like limp mode, similar to my TD5 landrovers….my 4.2diesel landcruisers give me no problems

mike your idiot missus didnt come good last night, people are hear for honest information your opinion is extreme i currently own a 2004 3.0 l auto and am very very impressed am concerned will it go the distance but i like it so much i will chance it tojo just to expensive prado excellent reports pajero in spanish means wanker suits you mike go and buy one.

yea a v8 tdi would be a godsend, i have seen a gu with a chev turbo v8 in it as well as an lsi (5.7 chev injected) sonuded great.

I here alot of talk about how bad the 3.o is and how good the 4.8 is , they are both compitent trucks. But i my preference is the 3.0 because its economical and smooth, the 4.8 is a thirsty bugger (at least so ive heard. My 3.0 basicly submerges in creeks and re-emerges just fine.
