Think they’ll stop at Speed Cameras…
August 16, 2007 by Matt Brogan
…think again! Motorcycle News reports this morning that the NSW State Government is currently testing ‘Noise Cameras’ at Mount Ousley.
They claim the system is designed to minimise noise from truck movement in urban areas, but is it just a matter of time until this is turned in to another revenue raising exercise to top up the already bulging coffers?
We’ll keep you posted.

I can’t wait to hear how noise cameras increase road safety!
I’m sure the Pollys and Cops will find a way of making it so ;)
They started to have police randomly check motorcycles fitted with aftermarket exhausts about 5-6 years ago when I use to work on bikes up that part of town.
I guess they’re now utilising cops for other purposes instead of being on the street.

First one’s in Oz were trialled on Portrush Rd here in Adelaide. Kookaburra’s would set them off. But jeez, we need these things – I live near South Road, Darlington and the noise from exhaust ‘resonator’s’ from wankers who don’t know how much fuel they use to make the sound and the bloody nuisance in the middle of the night they are.
I’ve got a semi licence, and those drivers who are too damn lazy to get their exhaust brakes fixed deserved to be caught ! 3:00 AM in the morning hearing milk tankers coming down the hill ain’t good for anyone’s sleep patterns.
We need these more than speed camera’s !
