2017 Hyundai i30 N spied with less camouflage at the front

The Hyundai i30 N has been spied again near the Nurburgring, but this time around the car is wearing less camouflage, giving us a better look at the front-end design.

Although we can't see the details of the grille, the lower section of the front bumper is visible.

In addition to featuring a horizontal array of LED driving lights, the N's front fascia is a fair bit more aggressive than the ones fitted to prototypes of the regular variants in the new i30 range.

This car is also fitted with large alloy wheels with electric blue highlights, low profile tyres, and two large exhaust tips at the rear.

Interestingly, this prototype is missing the thicker flared side sills from the car that was spied in July.

Motivation is expected to come from a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine featuring turbocharging and direct injection. Rumours indicate that power will be in the 180 and 195 kilowatt ballpark, and that the sole transmission at launch will be a six-speed manual.

If true, the i30 N will be more powerful the Volkswagen Golf GTI, which has 162kW/350Nm in standard trim or 169kW/350Nm with the performance pack.

Hopefully the engine sounds as good as the audio teaser released by Hyundai late July.

Regular variants in the i30 range are expected to make their debut at the 2016 Paris motor show, which takes place at the beginning of October. The i30 N will reportedly step out of the shadows some time in 2017.
