2016 Dodge Journey recalled for transaxle fix
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles Australia has issued a recall for 60 of its 2016 model-year Dodge Journey SUVs over concerns that a faulty transaxle could see the vehicle lose power while driving.
The American manufacturer reports the transaxle oil pump could experience a loss of hydraulic oil pressure due to a manufacturing fault.
A loss of hydraulic oil pressure in the transaxle will result in a loss of power, which poses a potential accident hazard.
Recalled Dodge Journeys are equipped with the 3.6-litre V6 engine and automatic transmission, produced from 17 August 2015 to 29 January 2016.
A total of 60 vehicles are affected, although only 36 of these cars have been sold. A list of affected VIN numbers can be viewed here.
Owners of the recalled vehicles will be contacted by Fiat Chrysler Australia, and asked to present their vehicle to their local Chrysler, Jeep, or Dodge dealer where the transaxle oil pump will be replaced.
