2016 Range Rover Evoque recalled for fuel leak, 1640 vehicles affected

Land Rover is recalling 1640 of its 2016 model-year Range Rover Evoque SUVs fitted with the 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine over fuel-leak concerns.

The company reports that under-bonnet fuel hoses can chafe against noise suppressing materials on the underside of the engine top cover. Over time, the fuel hoses may wear through the protective sleeve and the hose itself, which would lead to a diesel fuel leak.

Leaking fuel can pose a skid hazard to other road users, and should the fuel come into contact with a hot surface like the exhaust manifold, there is also a fire risk.

The 1640 affected Evoques were produced from 5 March 2015 to 22 April 2016, falling between the VIN ranges SALVA2BN1GH048246 to SALVA2BN5GH148852.

Owners of the recalled vehicles will be notified by Land Rover and instructed to present their Evoque to their local dealership, where the repairs and preventative measures will be completed.
