VW Break Sales Records

The Volkswagen Brand shifted a staggering 2.11 million vehicles worldwide in the the first half of 2007.

From January to July 2007, the brand basked in a 7.9 percent increase over the previous period.

“We have never sold so many Volkswagen vehicles in this period before. We look forward with confidence to the months ahead”

Of the biggest markets for the VW brand, Brazil achieved the biggest improvement in sales figures, reaching 30.6 percent whilst their largest market – China, enjoyed a 25.4 percent increase to 443,000 sales. Closer to home, they managed to shift more than 261,000 VW models here in Australia.

    261,000 VW sales in 6 months in Oz?? that would mean a 26% share of the market!!!! me thinks there could be a mistake there.

    6 months, not a year. It would actually be 52% of the market. An even bigger mistake than Matthew thought.

    Sorry guys, I presumed the press release was Australian when it said ‘291,000 vehicles delivered here’, turns out its for Brazil.
