2016 Renault Koleos:: Australian price and launch timing confirmed for all-new SUV

Australian details for the all-new 2016 Renault Koleos, which will make its global sales debut here, have been announced today.

Revealed in April, the new Koleos is billed as Renault's first-ever 'D-Segment' SUV. Thanks to its shared platform with Nissan's new X-Trail, the 2016 Koleos is 150mm longer than its predecessor.

And, as a much newer offering, this new model also offers a host of significantly more advanced features and powertrains than the outgoing generation.

It has been known for some time that ours would be the first market to get the new Koleos, but today marks the first confirmation of launch timing and pricing.

The new model will be available in Australia from August 1, priced from $29,990 plus on-road costs.

Full details are still to come, although Renault has confirmed that a 2.5-litre petrol engine will be standard fit, matched to a CVT automatic transmission.

Expect that engine to be the 126kW and 226Nm unit offered in the X-Trail.
