Subaru Impreza WRC Concept
August 10, 2007 by Alborz Fallah
Disregarding all the bad publicity enjoyed by the new Impreza range, Subaru has announced the début of the Subaru World Rally Car concept at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
CarAdvice recently ran a survey asking whether or not our readers would consider buying the new Subaru Impreza, as of today over 700 unique readers have voted, with the results showing a overwhelming 81% dismissing the new Impreza’s styling.
The new Subaru Impreza will go on sale in September as a hatch (sedan variant will not make it to Australia for another 18 months), followed closely by the range topping STi variant in February next year.
CarAdvice will be attending this years Frankfurt Motorshow, so expect images of the ex-rally king next month.

Well I think the hatch look awesome but then again I always did prefer the old WRX waggons over the sedans anyway!
As a hatch it looks great. As the new Impreza it disappoints.
The styling for the back end of the hatch really lets down the entire car. Oh and nice massive spoilers – rofl.
Nah I rather stick to my MKV R32.
Like i said before i reckon the new WRX looks alright compared to all the other hatches out there, as seen here when you add a few spoilers etc it certainly looks equal if not better than all the others out there – if the voting didnt say ‘absolutely’ vs ‘no way’ then you might have swung a few others, although i voted in the affirmative, i can’t say absolutely! i would buy one when there a lot of other similar cars around, gti, 3mps, xr5… certainly to be considered anyway – personally i dont know what all the fuss is about with the new wrx – its not a sedan but it was only ever the over 70’s that buy small sedans i thought
I really like the look of the new hatch – much better than the half wagon half hatch thing currently on offer. I just hope it drives well, better than a Mazda 3 anyway.
I agree with George – well said.
Nice hatch, crappy as WRX/STI.
