HSV has announced three new limited edition models, with two commencing production in June and all three to be powered by the naturally aspirated LS3 engine.
HSV Clubsport R8 SV Black and HSV Maloo R8 SV Black
Limited to 350 units (with an additional 18 destined for New Zealand), the HSV Clubsport R8 SV Black is powered by the 340kW 6.2-litre LS3 V8 engine. The Maloo R8 SV Black on the other hand, will be capped at 100 units (with an additional two destined for New Zealand). Both models begin production in June.
Pricing starts at $62,990 (before on-road costs) for the Maloo R8 SV Black, while the Clubsport R8 SV Black is priced from $65,990 (before on-road costs).
Featuring four-piston AP Racing brakes, the SV Black range is based off the Clubsport/Maloo R8 LSA, but features Satin Black 20-inch alloy wheels, black door surrounds and lower door accenting, shadow chrome exhaust tips and black badges.
Black fender vents and mirror scalps, along with a Satin Graphite lo-line spoiler (for Clubsport) finish the exterior styling.
Inside the cabin, SV Black models get leather sports bucket seats, unique sill and ID plates, along with individual numbering.
The main options available include:
“We know, from experience, that our customers really connect with the SV Black styling theme,” said HSV chief designer Julian Quincey.
“The visual enhancements we’ve introduced with the GEN-F2 SV Black range really dial-up the vehicle’s street presence, and we’ve no doubt this range will emulate the success of the last SV Black,” he said.
HSV Grange SV
Starting from $86,990 (before on-road costs), the limited edition HSV Grange SV will be limited to just 50 vehicles, with production commencing in September.
The Grange SV will be powered by a 340kW 6.2-litre LS3 naturally aspirated V8 engine. In addition to its current set of features, it will also receive 20-inch Rapier gloss black forged alloy wheels, four-piston AP Racing brakes with black calipers, shadow chrome exhaust tips and black accenting on the grille surround, driving light bezels, fender vents, mirror covers, lower air intake surround and boot lid applique.
Door mouldings and badges will receive a black treatment, while the car also gets unique ID and sill plates, along with individual numbering and build plates.
“We wanted to introduce styling elements that accentuated the vehicle’s street presence and gave it a little more attitude.”
“The 20-inch SV Rapier alloys, the aggressive black calipers and the black accenting really help nail the distinctiveness we were after,” said Quincey.
“For almost 20 years, Grange has stood proudly as Australia’s favourite performance limousine; built to order for a very exclusive customer base. It is a fitting tribute that the last 50 Grange’s ever to be built will carry the exclusive ‘SV’ moniker,” said HSV managing director Tim Jackson.
“And, for a select few, this will be there last chance to grab a piece of HSV performance history,” he said.
The only options available with the Grange SV are the Enhanced Driver Interface (EDI) ($1095) and the electric tilt and slide sunroof ($1990).
HSV has announced production of all LS3 vehicles will end in October, marking these limited edition models as the last LS3-powered HSVs ever.
