then tell me why does a stock standard 235kW VY SS outperform this particular car?
must be the weight? perhaps the fact that the block in the GS is from the truck and weights a little more? or just the nature of the DOHC in these that is just slow and ill responsive and its 302kW/551Nm feel like 220kW/440Nm in a mild worked 4.0L I6 Falcon BA or FG?

I own a 6.0L Calais VZ series 2 , 2006 model, four speed. It is standard, it makes 260kW on regular, and 510Nm of torque, and it feels a lot more powerful, faster, quicker, more responsive, more alter and explosive on the road, yet smoother and lighter than this thing.

I have great respect for Fords driving dynamics, suspension technology and the 6 speed ZF, but the V8 is not really what its suppose to be, the I6 is a much better option and it feels like its doing 90% of the V8s job with less petrol and $$$ out of your pocket!

I will stick with the Calais, wait till the OTRCAI comes along and a nice set of extractors and a tune! , 350flywheelkW! baby!

Can you please remove yourself from the gene pool? Prefearbly by getting crushed to death in a
garbage compactor, by getting your face cut to ribbons with a
pocketknife, your head cracked open with a baseball bat, your stomach
sliced open and your entrails spilled out, and your eyeballs ripped
out of their sockets.

I really hope that you get curb-stomped. It'd be hilarious to see you
begging for help, and then someone stomps on the back of your head,
leaving you to die in horrible, agonizing pain.

STFU, before you get your face bashed in and cut
to ribbons, and your throat slit.

hey you the real car fanatic .... torque is what matters too......

power is there just to make one thing which is at point A to reach the point B in a given amount of time.

in order to move the "thing" from point A to B you need motion , motion is caused by TORQUE , which is as we all know derived from Force x Distance ....

hence , why the power is not important.

a car making 240kW with 650Nm will always beat a car making 325kW and with 550Nm.

This is a fact.

I remember a guy who had 2004 XR6 Turbo 240kW/450Nm .... purpose tuned with a massive inter cooler and throttle body , it was tuned in a such way that the power was kept the same at 240kW, YET the torque was increased to 650Nm....

power did not increase as torque increased because of timing/tune/cam timing spark timing etc .....

why does my cousins 5.4L BA XT keep up with my GS 302 when we both floor it at 100km/h.

that old 2002 XT 5.4 just sits next to me till like 170km/h?

why? and i got 82kW more and 69Nm more? , plus his is 4 speed auto i am 6 speed auto?

frustrated!

How much torque does each car have Sass, cause Torque is more closley associated with acceleration than KW's. Kilowatts is just the power generated by the force or Torque.

i did a roll start in a 2003 XR8 4 speed auto with a 2007 XR6 Turbo 6 speed ZF , from 120km/h to 200km/h and i got away from that BFII by 4 car lengths.

Think about ;) .... think harder , a V8 is a V8, and worst of all, a 2005 BF GT was there too, he got away from me by 1 car length and it was a 6 speed ZF slightly worked with full exhaust and ECU tune making 340 flywheel kW vs my stock 260kW with 198000ks on clock.

recently after supercharging my old beast to 460flywheel kW, it got away 6 car lengths away from a FG F6 which was boosted to 400 rwkw. Think about it.

roll start of course, 100-180.

V8 always rules.

actually, both BOSS302 and 315 are mechanically identical 100%, its all in the ECU firmware/drivers or software if you wish;)

i meant the BF 302 kW and the FG 302kW and 315kW = one engine.

and for your information an XR6 Turbo acts very sluggish in hot summer days, especially those with a stock XT 4 speed auto , earlier models prior to BF or BF models with optioned 4 speed auto.

they were in fact slower than an N/A Taxi, due to the heat.

A stock 2003 XR8 BOSS260 and early Barra220 Falcons own XR6 Turbo cars anywhere between 120-250km/h.

True in a way simon but not really correct.

On a hot day the already hot air is compressed and heated further then the air to air intercooler is less efficient....That means that pre ignition is increased and the ecu knocks the ignition advance back to compensate which obviously results in less kw.
