Jaguar XE recalled for seat belt fix

Jaguar has issued a recall for 66 examples of the 2017 XE sedan over a faulty seat belt pre-tensioner.

The British manufacturer reports that the driver’s seat belt pre-tensioner may not operate correctly due to incorrect wiring of the vehicle’s restraints control module.

In the event of an accident, the pre-tensioner may not operate as required, which increases the potential of injury to the driver.

The 66 affected XE sedans fall between the VIN range of SAJAB4AG1HA942566 to SAJAB4AG1HA944169.

Owners of the affected vehicles will be notified by Jaguar and are advised to present their vehicle to their local Jaguar retailer, where the the module will be correctly wired to fix the issue.
