Volkswagen IAA World Premiere’s

August 6, 2007 by George Skentzos

Volkswagen will premiere no less than eight new models among a fleet of over fifty existing models at the International Automobile Exhibition (IAA) in Frankfurt from the 13th to the 23rd of September.

Perhaps most anticipated is the new Tiguan, an entirely new generation of SUV developed to complement the Touareg.

Six new BlueMotion models will also make their debut, reinforcing VW’s continued dedication to producing fuel-efficient vehicles, making a total of 9 vehicles under the BlueMotion label by 2008.

The Volkswagen BlueMotion environmental label will certainly become a byword for effective environmental protection. The versions already available – the Polo BlueMotion (3.8 litres of diesel consumed per 100 km and 99 g/km CO2) and Passat BlueMotion (5.1 litres of diesel consumed per 100 km and 136 g/km CO2) – have already redefined the standards of economy in their respective classes.

Europe’s number one manufacturer will boast an immense 9,000 square metres at the event to display its diverse range of vehicles. Including a new prototype – the VW City Expert, which will be the successor to the rear-engined flat-four “boxer” powered Beetle.
