BMW 3 Series M Sports Package

August 6, 2007 by Alborz Fallah

BMW has sold 1,734 of new 3 series in Australia since the car was introduced in October 2006.

So far the fastest and most powerful 3-series you can buy is the Twin Turbo 335i, and while many have opted for the power of the 335i, a select few continue to wait for the M3. For those who lack the needed patience and don’t want a 335i, BMW Australia today announced the introduction of a M Sports Package available on the 3 Series Coupé.

The M sports package is not just a bodykit, the upgrade gives buyers a set of 18-inch M light-alloy wheels (or 19-inch for a little more) as well as BMW M sports suspension (15 mm lower than standard). The bodykit includes larger air intakes, sideskirts and a rather noticeable rear bumper panel. You also get M style driver and front-seat passenger sports seats and a M leather steering wheel, ‘Sportshifter’ shift lever and the ‘Aero’ leather handbrake grip.

From the inside, the sports package includes an aluminium glacier silver trim finish, M door sill finishers, plus the option of a wood interior trim. The new BMW M Sports Package will be available for all 3 Series Coupé models from November. The new BMW M3 is expected in Australia early next year (possibly very late this year).

Given the different equipment levels, the M sports package varies from $2,600 on the 335i, $4,700 on the 325i and up to $6,200 on the 323i.
