Good to see the Fiesta doing so well! After all the Aussie ‘best in class’ reviews, too.

Was this Fiesta designed under Marin Burela’s term at Ford of Europe? If so, bodes well for Ford Australia…

its more a reflection on the competition opel/vauxhall being on its knees, buyers will avoid them until they know their future.
The ‘European’ focus we get in Australia comes from south africa, and the ‘european’ fiesta is about to switch over to production in Thailand, well done Ford ‘Europe’.
Ford imported Festivas from Korea (made by Kia) 10 years before holden sourced cars from there.

It was ok when ford did it, it’s bad when holden does it, yeah right.

The Barina was upgraded to 4 stars over a year ago, just the same rating as a camry, early VE commodore or BA falcon

In response to Shak; Yes it is a very good business case for Holden, rebadge Daewoos as Holdens and flog them as Holdens, this is why Daewoo left Australia, due to no sales and a poor product. Now Holden continues to pull the Wool over the Australian publics eyes with their current range of Daewoo rejects; the Barina being one of the lowest safety record of any car.

In response to flogging their European imports at a premium price. There are many Euro Barina’s / Corsas and Astra’s on the road, however, the last Euro Barina was showing its age and needed an update; but did not receive one; the Astra sold very well but was also at the end of its model cycle and sales decreased. In Eurpoe, the Astra outsells the Chevy Cruze 10 to 1; its a shame we wont get to see how well it does here; it is a much better looking car, the quality of materials are improved and “doesnt look like something you’d get out of a cereal box” like the Cruze.

Here’s hoping Magna sees a market for Opels in Australia with a competitive price to blow Holden out of the water with its substandard product

GM Doesn’t own Opel anymore so they can’t import the cars anyway and Holden has a 50.1% stake in dirty Daewoo so we get their cars unfortunately. The new Cruze is badged a Daewoo Lacetti in Korea LOL. I used to be a Holden supporter up until the Daewoo rebadging started but not anymore. I have a Fiesta now and couldn’t be happier.

Wwll done, but it’s recession now and it would be interesting to know total number of sold cars in septembar 2008 and september 2009 and than compare. It’s maybe just a fact that they fall less then others. It’s success, too.

Why would Holden want to review the most cost effective business case. they are making very good sales with the Cruze and Captiva and because they are so cost effective they dont cost much for the consumer. If Holden were to bring back their european imports then hardly anyone would buy them because they would say that Holden is trying to flog off their products st premium prices. this happened last time with the Vectra and the old Barina and hardly anyone bought them,

Yeah Ive got no problem with you adding the focus to your list of good cars, but when it the overhaul coming???
That styling is geting a little bland for me, lucky that blemish is only skin deep I suppose
