Daihatsu prepares four concepts for Tokyo Motor Show

October 12, 2009 by Matt Brogan

Daihatsu is set to reveal four concept models at next week’s Tokyo Motor Show with its DecaDeca model, Japanese for “roomy roomy”, set to take centre stage.

Set to blend practicality with distinctive looks the DecaDeca features a boxy, upright body with wide-opening doors and a highly versatile interior.

Lightweight seats can be quickly removed to make the most of DecaDeca’s utility while under the bonnet a 660cc engine is said to offer ‘performance and economy’.

The DecaDeca will be joined on stage by the ‘e:S’ and ‘Tanto Exe’.

e:S is a sub-light hatch weighing in at just 700kg and will take on the likes of Suzuki Alto.

Meanwhile, the 4WD Basket Concept Tanto Exe targets young families with its roomy interior.

The fourth and final concept remains a mystery. All will be revealed when the Tokyo Motor Show opens next Monday.
