I like the effect on the Song porcelain but on a Ferrari it just looks tacky. But then I suppose this is more of a showpiece than somebody’s weekend drive.

It’s easy to understand. Chinese consumers are suckers for everything foreign. Foreign-inspired designs tend to sell better than homebrewed designs. Moreover, it’s cheaper to copy than to create. Even if the designers themselves want to create something original, their bosses won’t allow them. It’s all business.

i’m chinese myself…i think he was just having a stab at chinese manufacturers in general ripping off other brand’s designs… and i agree… if malaysia and korea and come up with their own designs, i don’t know why the chinese can’t get their act together!

Not really… do you know that Holden, Ford, Toyota here in Australia employes many styling/designers with Chinese backgrounds?

Not just manufacturers but a lot of design jobs…. do not want to sound racists, but what Im trying to say is, Chinese people are as talented as any other designers out there.
