Bentley Continental GT Speed

Bentley currently builds one of the most underrated luxury supercars, the Bentley Continental GT. Powered by a twin-turbo W12 that manages 411kW of power and 650Nm of torque, the GT reaches 100km/hr in just 4.8 seconds. Prices start from $375,000 AUD.
Yesterday Bentley announced updates for the GT and also introduced a new model, the Continental GT Speed. The Speed badge comes from the early 20s when Bentley introduced a new variant designed for spirited drivers. It has been long forgotten until now.
The new Continental GT Speed gets an increase in power by 38Kw and 100Nm over the standard GT to make 449kW of power and 750Nm of torque. This puts the GT Speed in the 200 mph (322km/hr) club with a top speed of 202 mph. 0-100 times have also reduced by 0.3 of a second to just 4.5.
For the standard GT, the updates include a minor facelift with widened and lowered front bumper fascia air intake, a more upright grille with a darker tint, larger sport tailpipes and chromed headlamp bezels as well as wider wheels (9.5-inches).
The GT also receives upgraded shock absorbers, latest ESP (v 8.1 with new “Sport Traction” setting) and revised Servotronic power steering for improved road feedback.
Under the hood, Bentley have updated the GT with a new crankcase design, improved emissions system, lighter chain drive for camshaft, faster cam sensor and remapped engine management control unit. Resulting from the mechanical changes, the new GT reduces emissions by 3.5 percent while dropping fuel consumption to around 16.6 L /100kms for city/highway (up to 25 L /100kms for city only).

Lol 450kw and 750Nm!!! Personally the styling doesnt overly appeal to me, but they are ‘graceful’… I saw one overtake someone on the highway a few months back at speed, only way to describe it is that it glided faster and faster away from me.
yes they are monsters on the road, they look so subtle and subdued until the V12 twin turbo comes to life, it is a rocket! the car weighs 2300kgs and anything that can get to a 100 in 4.5 seconds with that much weight… is a work of art.
I think it’s stylish, very impressive, and commands respect. The kind of car that makes you feel a little less important when it’s beside you at the lights.
I dont know, for the price, the Aston Martin DB9 is the better buy, maybe not as fast, but definitely a much better looking car.
Sorry i hate to do this again, but the Bentley Continental GT Speed has Twin Turbo 6.0Litre W12 engine not a V12
Its a great car, but i would perfer the flying spur, the only reason is that i see a bentley as a car which is not a race car but a comfortable crusing in the backseat.
If i wanted a quick GT coupe i would get a DB9
Styling wise I rate the front…. side on its good…. rear doesnt do it for me. And if you were paying big bucks you really wouldnt want one single aspect that you disliked! But hey Im relatively young and somehow I doubt im its target market!!!

Same powertrain, same performance, much better looking with more room AND CHEAPER!!

I agree, the rear of the car leaves a lot to be desired, the lights just… I dont know, it almost appears a little like a bubble car. I don’t know what they were thinking
The Speed certainly has the numbers and quite a serious price tag.
It looks good in the flesh but for $30K less you could have a DB9 which is a far better GT all round.
Although I haven’t driven the Bentley, I’ve had a good look inside and you can believe me when I say there is bugger all leg room in the rear in fact, the Aston might have a touch more.
Nonethless, it’s a stylish set of wheels with a 7 star luxury fit out.
If I sold my house I could have one but then I would have to live in it.
At least I could drive to a public toilet very quickly!
