Wonder if Fordup is genuine? Never heard of such a thing. I have a 50th anniversary Turbo ute and my son a XR6 turbo sedan, he also is a mechanic and for awhile ran a Ford service centre He has mothing but praise for the Turbos, I love mine. My car has not missed a beat and has no problems, getting 11 litres per 100 running on 91 octane.

Was the proud owner of a 2009 FG XR6t ute. Until the vibrations started. At idle (500rpm) the whole exhaust vibrates through the car. Its horrendous. Its embarresing, and I have to sit with my foot on the gas so that it idles higher or turn up my radio. To give you the extent of the rattle my girlfriend said it gave her a headache the other day.

Ford Australia got back to me and said it 'was a characteristic of the car' and that no fix for it had been found. That was 12 months ago, the other day I called the useless people at Sunshine Ford on the Gold Coast and they said the same thing (after 'Stacey' only asking another staff member and not calling ford australia like i requested from him. They also said if I get it chipped to idle 250rpm higher it could void the warranty. But this Ford warranty does squat for me anyways? so whats the point? I have been hesitant over buying an Aussie built ford or holden and as my first experience with one i can say NEVER AGAIN. As an aussie I am embarresed to say that we can't make cars for sh#t, or honour our warranties. A severe lack of responsibility and integrity from FORD. And SUNSHINE FORD on the GOLD COAST, and STACEY that works there, are equally useless.

I'm going to release a Youtube movie next. WOOP WOOP

i own a falcon xt ba 2002, all i did was put on a 4.11:1 diff lsd, cold air intake, full exhaust system hpc coated with headers high flow cats and what ever tune was done on premium 95 petrol.

the car cracks 192rwkw now and it beats my wives stock standard G6E Turbo 0th anniversary despite being 50rwkW short and 100Nm of torque short.

I lead every time 0-100 by a car length or on part wif it.

can somebody explain this to me? plus i have lots of tyre smoke and traction issues and i still manage 5.02s 0-100 with no cam work or supercharging/turbocharging done at all.

My 50th anniversay XR6T just puts a smile on my face. Docile as you want it to be, but give it a squirt and the turbine like motor really delivers. No matter how dry the road is the 19inch Dunlops will spin if you are incautious, but the sublime delight of that endless power. I was surprised at how quiet it is, virtually no mechanical noise, just a bit of tyre rumble, particularly on coarse chip. There cannot be better performance value, for around 40k. The electronics are wonderful, check out the 50th anniversary special, I got my auto for $39500, on the road fanrtastic value!!! And it is very well put together.

Finally bought my XR6T ute and insurance final quote a whole $19 extra for the rest of my insurance year, expires January. My existing car was a VW transporter and the annual comprehensive insurance less than $600 from AAMI.

I was quoted $150 per year extra insurance over a standard XR6, maybe because the turbo model I want costs $6000 more! I am over 25 rating 1.

The XR6 Turbo in both sedan and ute form gives the best bang for your buck. It is a dead set weapon and the rolling acceleration is incredible. It handles like a dream and every time you allow your right foot to become heavy it brings a grin from ear to ear. All of this for just $45000. Well done Ford, bring on the 5.0L V8 and Ford will have a smashing performance line up.
