Land Rover Reborn models unveiled

The Land Rover as we know it has met its maker, but the British off-road experts have now launched the Reborn initiative, which sees restored Series I Land Rovers offered for sale.

Just 25 vehicles will be offered to customers, with each "hand-picked by Land Rover Classic's team of experts for authenticity". The Series I models are said to be "perfectly restored according to original specification and using genuine Land Rover Classic Parts".

The new, er, old models will make their international launch debut at Techno-Classica in Essen, Germany, where Land Rover Classic will showcase the Series I Reborn model in its original 1948 specification, with original parts for authenticity.

The brand will even offer five original colours, including Light Green, Bronze Green, RAF Blue, Dove Grey and Poppy Red.

Enthusiasts will be rubbing their hands at the idea of securing an original Land Rover Series model that has been restored from the ground up. The vehicles have been restored at the original site of Defender production in Solihull, England.

"The launch of the Reborn initiative represents a fantastic opportunity for customers to own a valuable and collectable automotive icon. Reborn showcases Land Rover Classic’s expertise in restoring and maintaining our loyal customers’ prized Land Rovers," said Tim Hannig, director of Jaguar Land Rover Classic.

"It also demonstrates the business’ commitment to supporting customers with original and genuine parts for Land Rover models that have been out for production for longer than 10 years."

CarAdvice has contacted Land Rover Classic for comment on whether the vehicles will be available to buyers outside of the UK, and at what price.
