Faraday Future zooms in on new EV model teaser

Electric vehicle startup Faraday Future has handed down a new teaser image for the first of its upcoming production models, offering a closer look at a vehicle previewed in November last year.

At the time, Faraday Future had been shrouded in mystery, with little to no official word on the company’s management or backing. Speculation had even pointed to a close relationship with Apple.

The company came out of the shadows in January, however, with the unveiling of its FFZero1 electric hypercar concept at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

This latest teaser offers a new look at a vehicle that is claimed to be just one of five new models destined for production. Faraday has promised a 2017 unveiling for the first of its road-going models.

Strangely, the new teaser appears to reveal a vehicle with a body far too long for its wheels and platform, with significant overhangs at both ends. Our highlighted outline (above) offers a clearer view of the proportions presented (the wheel arches may, of course, sit higher in a more SUV-oriented design).

Whether the teaser shown is a firm representation of the final model’s layout is, of course, still to be confirmed.

Our modified image (above) shows the body shrunken to what could be a more realistic view of the new electric vehicle.

For its part, Faraday Future has offered no new details on the vehicle, releasing this latest teaser without comment.
