Hummer H4? Oh No….

July 31, 2007 by Alborz Fallah

As if the all-plastic, cheap and nasty Hummer H3 was not enough, GM management has given the go ahead for a new one, the Hummer H4. Set to be smaller than the H3, the H4 will compete with the likes of the Jeep Wrangler.

The H4 is being prepared for a U.S. release in 2009. Depending on how H3 sales go in Australia, we could be victims of the H4 by 2010.

The idea is simple, use that big, army-style and unbreakable image, to sell lesser cars that are not only made out of cheap plastic, but provide no extra protection over a standard sedan, although we are told they do make you feel bigger…

In April GoAuto reported the possibility of a new ute and crew-cab variants for the H3.

The RTA should use this vehicle in it’s “little weiner” marketing campaign, it’s a more appropriate use of the gesture.

Lol I agree with no added protection, I want at the very least protection again anti-tank mines and small arms fire. Its true though they are just cashing in on its image (which isnt that great in the army n e way these days, Iraq has highlighted its many floors… Aussies are on the right thing with the ASLAVS – maybe make a production version of one of these 6 wheeled beasts lol?), they are ridiculously overpriced as well.

  3. Reckless1 says:

    Bring it on!!!!!

An H4 for me, an H2 for my wife, and an H3 for my daughter.

I have to have the little one, or I’ll be accused of having a small weenie.

While i’m a big supporter of choice, this thing makes the Ssangyong Actyon look like a supercar.

Personally I’ll be happy to see the H4 filled with C4 :)

hmmm…. Paul, do you even know what the aslav is?
It’s an APC so a completely different class to a hummer, so why compare, and the yanks have them too??!! And it’s not 6 wheeled, it’s 8×8… although the swiss who original designed them, have 6×6 versions too….
