Honda Civic Limited Edition 40th Anniversary
October 1, 2009 by Alborz Fallah
Honda has now been in Australia for 40 years and in order to celebrate the Japanese company is introducing two limited edition models, a Civic and an Accord.
The Honda 40th Anniversary Civic LE (Limited Edition) is based on the 1.8-litre Civic VTi (103 kilowatt i-VTEC engine) but comes standard with 15” alloy wheels, fog lamps, rear parking sensors, tailored floor mats, chrome exhaust finisher and special 40th anniversary badging, approximately $2,000 worth of additional equipment.
The current Civic (eighth-generation) has been around since 2006 and has proved popular with consumers. It achieves a fuel economy of 6.9 litres/100km and puts out only 164g of CO2 emissions per km (manual).
The 40th anniversary Civic is limited to just 800 units and is available with both a 5-speed manual or optional 5-speed automatic transmission with Grade Logic Control.
Prices start at $24,990 drive-away (flat paint, manual transmission).

Will buy one if the price was $23,500 drive away.
I’m sure you’d be able to. Contact a dealer.
for those dollars you can buy a 5 star car and get curtain airbags, not this poor 4 star effort
4 stars is not that bad…just because u like mazada silly kid…
with 24k you can also buy 3 secondhand hyundai getz..
Seems a reasonable deal, considering that regional dealers were asking $29,9** for an auto base model, last week. Recently, Honda had a sale on ‘08 models, hopefully these are ‘09 vintage. Worth a look!
NOEL GORDON
I just bought one and got it for $23,445.45 with a tow bar thrown in.
they have the power of a 2l itre and the efficency of a 1.5 litre
These people that put down this Vehicle proberly don’t even have a JOB.
let alone enough money to buy one.
Go buy a Holden Cruise for 5K more and it’s made in Korea.
Whereas the Civic is made in Thailand, a country with a long and proud history of automobile manufacturing and innovation… LOL
these better be MY09 build at least. Stupid honda trying to sell MY08 models more expensive than what they were worth in 08. Ridiculous!
If the above car is any indication, this is the MY09 model as these have the round foglights. I’d imagine the next all new Civic would come out 2011/12. For the new model, nothing less than 5 star safety would be acceptable.
Well, after having a brilliant Mazda 626 for the past 18 years (which has almost clocked up 400000k’s) I am picking up a new Honda Civic this afternoon and looking forward to it. Would have got a new Mazda 3 but my mechanic reckons they scrub out the tyres (?) plus the 40th Anniversary Promo makes it hard to go past the Hondas at the moment. I was quite impressed when I drove it and I am a Mazda girl at heart. The small business 50% tax rebate makes it even more appealing! Only issue I had was that I wanted a manual and there were hardly any of them available so colour choices were incredibly limited.
